We first have to improve the education standards in Karia primary school by setting up modern infrastructures that will enable 21st-century education.
This follows five steps.
- Upgrade classrooms to be student-centered and a conducive learning environment. Also, provide classrooms that cater to students with disabilities.
- Build a school library with modern reading materials, and equipped with technology for students to collaborate with students in developed countries.
- Build a computer lab to introduce computer learning at an early stage. A few decades ago basic reading was the way out of poverty, but into today’s world, basic computer skills are necessities to succeed in life.
- Construct new toilets. The current students’ toilets are in deplorable and unhygienic conditions which pose a great risk of spreading communicable diseases to the most vulnerable in the society.
- Improve the playing field so that students can participate in sporting activities. Presently, the playing field is overgrown with vegetation making it unusable.
